Training on coalbed methane was conducted
AMEP 2 is pleased to collaborate with the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia (MRPAM) and the National Geological Survey of Mongolia in their effort to improve geo-science data for Coalbed Methane (CBM). On Dec 27, 2021, Dr. Tim Moore, Managing Director of Cipher Consulting and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Queensland University of Technology held a certificate training for industry experts in Mongolia. The goal of the workshop was to improve the understanding of types of geodata that is crucial for the estimation of CBM and economic and environment issues that must be considered in extracting CBM commodity.
Between 2019 and 2021, AMEP 2 conducted comparative assessments on overlapping of licensing of CBM and other minerals, and CBM and fiscal regime issues. Findings were presented to AMEP 2 stakeholders, including the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industries of Mongolia, MRPAM, industry, and professional association members.
