AMEP 1 and 2 in collaborative partnership with the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry (MMHI), and other key partners such as the Center of Minerals Research and Geoinformation Training School of Mining & the Geology of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) developed a series of sector standards referred to as the “Mineral Guidelines”. Beginning in 2019 AMEP supported the development of three Mineral Guideline volumes that cover some 17 minerals. Mineral Guideline Volume No. 1 covers 5 minerals including gold, iron, fluorite, earth deposits, and oil. Guideline Volume No.3 covers aluminum, graphite, carbonate stone, sand gravel, salt, and rare earth elements, as well as lithium-cesium. Volume No.4, covers phosphate, manganese, beryllium, nickel-cobalt, and chromium.
