AMEP 2 will provide an assessment of regulatory practices related to feasibility studies and mining project approvals in countries with established extractives industries. This will assist with a review of Mongolian regulation by the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry.  Aligning Mongolia’s licencing system more closely to international practice will a) increase efficiency and effectiveness of the process; b) improve project timeframes; and c) reduce disputes.
